Fundraising with Monkey 4 Romania

If you read our “A visit from the North and South” article, you will have also met Monkey, one of our revisiting volunteers. However monkey is not only a visitor to Romania, he is also a fundraising initiative started by Rhiannon Edwards from Warrington, England 3 years ago and works in collaboration with Mission to Eastern Europe.
The idea is very simple, you can take monkey with you on your holidays or travels and for a donation of your choice, send us pictures of him and a short description of what he was doing, after which they will appear on Monkey’s website. Making a donation is a very easy process and there are easy to follow instructions on the website.
So far monkey4romania has helped to raise over £1000 for FAST, which has gone towards supporting poor families in the Roma communities that we help. More specifically, it helps to buy food for a family, or a stove for the house for cooking and warmth or towards materials to help a family have a better home built for them.
