Accommodation and meals


We have our own volunteer accommodation with room for 20 people. It is warm and comfortable and at 60lei (approx 14GBP), including breakfast and lunch, it is a very affordable option. You can see some pictures below of our accommodation, which were taken by our Romanian volunteer photographer Catalin Bujdei.

Evening meal can be bought locally at a local restaurant for 20lei (about 5GBP), or alternatively you may wish to buy food from the choice of local supermarkets and cook at the centre.

Transport

All volunteers fly into our nearest airport in Bucharest. Whilst it is our nearest, it is actually located at approximately a 3 hour drive away from the centre.

We can and do pick up volunteers when required. In order to cover all the costs of the 6hour round trip, we have to charge 300lei, approximately 67GBP per trip, therefore 600lei or 134GBP in total if you require a drop off on return.

However, there is the alternative of public transport and there is a train service from the airport to the train station and then a train up to Brasov. This does work out cheaper at approx, 68lei or 15GBP per trip.

Spends

There are many places to see in and around Brasov, and you may wish to explore them when you are not working on the projects. Most places are not too expensive to visit, but it is worth ensuring you bring enough spending money with you to see the places you would like too.
